Two lessons to take away from this fantastic surprise– 1. always have your camera handy and 2. shoot details and make them visually interesting. It may be something small, but seeing my name under a photo for RollingStone gives me a push to keep going. I made 3 New Year’s Resolutions in 2009 and admitted them only to a select few. I held on to the hope of being published in at least one big publication that year. I was a couple months late, but I’m not counting calendar squares today.
